SHOP UPDATE: Monthly Review Planner To Evaluate Your Monthly Goals
So what is Monthly review??
A review “ in Dictionary” is A formal assessment of something with the intention of instituting change if necessary.
So the main purpose of reviewing something is to reevaluate and revision in order to change for the better. And that’s what we intend by using Monthly review inserts.
The monthly review planner is a page that allows you to summarize all that you’ve learned, accomplished from the previous month and hence think more about the future how to improve it and don’t fall within the same mistakes once again.
Also, using monthly review is maximizing the benefit of habit trackers, goal progress charts… Etc. How ??
Let me tell you a little story.
When I started using habit trackers, I searched a lot about new healthy habits to adopt and track in my habit tracker. Actually, I found a lot of ideas and I decided to adopt some of them like: wake up early, water intake, reading, skin care routine, relaxation, Yoga and something like that.
At the end of the month, while reviewing my month, I realized that there are habits that not relevant to me, and some I already implementing and don’t need to even track it because it’s my lifestyle. This allows me to redefine my new habits to something that is related to only ME.
So, reviewing my monthly habits helped me in improving my habit routine and keep progress with an effective, consistent and suitable for me.
And that’s why I told you moment ago that monthly review is maximizing the benefit of habit trackers, goal progress charts… Etc.
Let’s start now for the steps I take for reviewing my month. They are 4 simple but effective steps I, myself use to increase productivity. All inserts I use are available in my shop now, you can check them and get all that you need.
Now let’s get started
Step #1 Reviewing monthly goals
Actually, this step comes next to setting my goals at the beginning of the month. The first day of each month I set and write down all goals for this month. When setting my goals I take in consideration some points I want to share with you when you set your goals too.
- Set reasonable goals that you can achieve. Don’t overload your energy and effort so you can carry out all your tasks and reach your target.
- Consider your yearly goals and quarterly goals.
- Set S.M.A.R.T goals.
- Break down your goals into small action steps. In fact, this point is very important because it’s how we evaluate and assess whether our goals have achieved or not.
Let’s take an example for breaking down my goals
This month’s goal I want to focus more on my blog posts. My goal is to write 4 blog posts. I break down this goal into action steps which are :
- Find inspiration.
- Search for new Keywords.
- Write headlines and basic points
- Write drafts for 4 posts
- Proofread it
- Create post graphics and add images
- Adjust SEO
- Revise, Revise
- Link to other posts
- Add CTA
At the end of the month, I will check if these 10 steps have been completed or not. Hence I will take a percentage for completing this goal. Whether I completed 4/10 or 6/10 or 10/10 I always consider these steps a crucial element in reviewing my goals
Got it ?!
Let’s move to the next step
Step #2 Reviewing Monthly habits
Reviewing my monthly habits depends on measuring what was before this month and what was after. Since all habits can be measured, you can write what were you doing before this month and you became now in a measurable way, ” steps, hours, dollars … etc ” anything.
Using this insert “ Before & After “ I can analyze the difference between two months, what has changed, what needs to improve and what becomes not important to me.
Step #3 Reviewing Monthly Financial goals
At some time, I could tell you that I was never good with money and hate financial printables, budget spreadsheets and find them boring. In fact, the process of finding a system that you can stick to is a lot harder than people think. But now when I adopted this system I changed my mind, especially when I found a result of controlling my finance.
1.The first step of financial goals is to set a saving goal. Think of why you want to save this amount and how? Maybe you want to prepare for a holiday or to become debt free or cover all of your expenses for the new year. Whether your goal is, having a goal is a great motivator for you to achieve it.
2. Once you set your monthly saving goal you will move to the next step which is Expenses goal setting. Identification of your expenses determine what will you need to save?
If I ask you how much do you need to prepare for the holiday? Or Christmas party? How would you know if you don’t track your spending, and have a good idea of where your money is going.
I always use Expenses trackers printable to track my spending and get control of my finance. I found that it’s pretty effective to see where your money goes, as a way of rationalizing my money consumption.
3. Step Number 3 Budgeting. When you know your expenses and where your money come and go you can easily set a monthly budget. A budget is a plan in which you decide how to allocate your income to meet your expenses. By creating a plan, you can make sure that you benefit from every cent you have without worrying or regret of wasting your money.
At the end of the month, I gather all these financial info and evaluate my progress whether I achieved my saving goals or not?
If you want to go deeper into the budgeting and financial process, I liked these two blogs a lot. You can check them and I guaranteed you that you will enjoy them.
Step #4 General monthly review
This page summarizes all that happened in the previous month: “ Projects, difficulties, lessons I learned .. etc”. This allows me to think more about my life journey, how I improve myself, What worked with me and what not?
Also, when you write down the difficulties you faced throughout the month, you will learn from it and benefit from each experience you faced
It only takes me a few minutes on the last day of each month, but it helps me focus on what’s important and forget the rest.
That was my monthly review process, of course, my life is different than you and what worked for me may not work for you. Who will decide that? Actually YOU. You are the one who decides whether this method will be the best for you or not. For me, since I adopted this method I became more motivated and more focused towards my goals, habits, and finance. And finally, I became more confident about the future.
So my advice to you is to start now trying to figure out your best method for reviewing your month.
